  1. Presumably it’s to show how ‘down to earth’and ‘normal’ they are?

  2. wb PSI πŸ™‚ Hope ur well!

Not sure what it was meant to achieve.
If anything it mocked those women who are different or desperately trying to ‘fit-in’

  3. All class……..your caption says it all.

    February 4, 2011 at 1:09 pm

  4. Any reasonable person should be able to see that this video was tongue-in-cheek. I attended the Beautiful Women Conference last year and the whole crowd was in stitches laughing at this. We all thought it was hilarious. It was meant to be just a bit of fun. For anyone to read a deeper spiritual meaning into it doesn’t have a sense of humour!!!

    April 16, 2011 at 6:51 pm

  5. If you want to fit in, this is not funny because, tougue in cheek or not, it is true and if you aren’t like these women, you will not be “in the loop”. You will be laughed at in the toilets for what you wear, you will be whispered about, you will be excluded, you will be asked to attend parties but never given the details of when and where they are, you will attempt to catch up with people but find they are always too “Busy”, you will find that you have been excluded by finding tagged pictures of people, who were supposed to be friends, at events you never heard about, on Facebook. There is a very visible element within the “in crowd “of PS women who are arrogant, toxic, self serving individuals. The ONLY way to be accepted is, GOD FORBID to become one of them !!! And, while I’m at it, a Women’s Conference is just that, a conference!! It is not now or ever will be, a Women’s Ministry!!!

  6. I’m sorry to hear that was your experience, but I just want to say that in the two years I’ve attended Planetshakers, I’ve never seen any of that sort of thing happen (oh, and I’m an unemployed solo mum who can’t afford the latest fashions). The danger here is state that this is every woman’s experience at PS when it is not. I’ve been in bathrooms there dozens of times and never heard mocking, I’ve picked people up in my car to go to church who have depression as well as non-English speaking migrants, etc. who don’t fit what you say is the ‘in group’ but enjoy being a part of things there. As for that Beautiful Woman promo, I’ve met both of those women on different occasions and they are not the slightest bit catty but enjoy poking fun at themselves which is what they were doing on that tape. For you to think they were putting other women down is wrong. But once again, sorry to hear that your individual experience was negative but to repeat what I said earlier, I’ve been going to all church events for two years and bitchiness is not the norm by any means.

    July 3, 2011 at 4:59 pm

  7. I’m pleased you find PS a positive experience,I have been attending for several years and latterly not found it so. Firstly, I did not imply the women in the promo were catty, I stated that if you weren’t like the people they portrait, you won’t be “in the loop”. And of course you won’t be the butt of their jokes, to be blunt, they won’t see you as a threat! I have personally seen someone moved to tears on several ocassions, they will not go into the toilets unaccompanied and now only attend ocassionally.(Interns are the worst). You say you give people rides to church, how blessed you are to have a car !!! Look after your depressed friends, guard them with your life!! PS is a dangerous place for people with depression!!! Some minor leaders have stated that “Christians shouldn’t get depression” How ignorant and uneducated they are…. I know
that could not possibly be the stance from the top, when Pastor Russell’s own brother, Executive Pastor at Paradise, Ashley Evans , makes no secret of the fact he suffered a Breakdown. Tell your friends there is NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST JESUS!! So herein lies another question… who is monitoring some of this behaviour?? Or are PS too preoccupied with overseas tours, and church plants in South Africa and Geelong to worry about the shaky foundations of the home church????

    July 4, 2011 at 11:28 am

  8. wow.. i don’t go to the church.. but surely that you can see this is just a little joke..
Angel you gotta lighten up.. when you find the perfect church tell me where it is! plus stop going cause it won’t be perfect once you start attending.. no church is perfect..

and seriously.. the PS insider.. surely you must have more to do with your time than run this website.. you are indeed a sad individual.. i feel for you buddy..

  9. This is ridiculous. It’s a joke! It’s mocking a the self conscious crap that women face in a cocky form saying simply that the woman that’s always stuck on being beautiful and making herself the object of attention ends up looking really bad in the end. It’s not hating on people that don’t care how they dress, and it’s not picking on the people that want to look good. It’s confronting a focus problem. We’re to show the world Christ, not spend all of our time focused on ourselves. If you take this out of context you’d be a tough one to pastor.

  10. Unfortunately, as someone who was involved at PS from day one in 2004, this is exactly what happens amongst the elite. I’ve seen it first hand for many, many years and have seen what it does to people. This video, while supposing to be tongue in cheek, is a very sad, truthful state of affairs amongst the elite group of Planetshakers City Church.

People can say all they want that this doesn’t happen within the church, but as someone who has seen it occur first hand for the best part of seven years, I can assure you it does. it takes many years for someone to recover from this. I regularly catch up with people who have removed themselves from Planetshakers and it takes some time before they feel good enough to go on with their lives and leave this awful chapter behind them.

I actually feel sorry for those still stuck in this “elite” group. I look at their lives and the way in which they interact with others and can’t help but want to run up and shake them and tell them there is a better way to live life. I know this because I sadly was a part of this elitist group and actually feel sick when I think back to the way in which I treated people and how I acted.

I hope that one day, people swept up by this group realise that they are in trouble, before they get too far in and are unable to get out of it.

  11. Thank you, thank you!!! All is confirmed. Jethro, you are very, very courageous. ” The truth will set us free!”

    August 22, 2012 at 10:46 pm

  12. Thankyou Angel.

And I sincerely hope that it does. If just one person wakes up to what is going on after reading this and makes a change, then it is worth it.

    August 23, 2012 at 12:25 pm

  13. Planetshakers is great, and I believe cinders is right. I have been their for over four years and I have four kids involved. Nothing but spiritual growth, revelation of how awesome God is, and ministry from all of the amazing volunteers, and best of all the presence of God.

I have been ridiculed, lied too and hurt by many Christians and sin doesn’t really worry about what church I go to, it manifests in all people. I am soo sorry that you or your friends have been hurt by others innocently or purposely. I think everyone can understand if you get hurt you need to remove yourself from a situation to get healing, but I also believe all of us are held by the word, love covers sin, forgiveness wipes it away. Heaven forbid the amount of time I have fallen short, I hope I don’t find Jesus blogging about how disappointed he is in me.

Please get some friends you trust in or if you are still at shakers speak to the people that have hurt you, like the bible says to, and get it sorted. There is an anointing in that, he who has been forgiven much loves much! I complained a lot before about my pain, the over flow of the heart the mouth speaks, I forgot that Jesus can change me regardless of my hurt, He can readjust my perspective to His, which is what PS is about. Changed from Glory to glory into His image.

Can I ask Angel and Jethro, what has your agreement proved? Have either of you spoken with ps Russell or a regional pastor or and urban life coach, assistant, host?

Have you ever made fun of anyone in your life? Maybe you don’t know you did? I’m sure I have and just said it was fun. No excuse, the video can be taken badly, but it was never an intention of anyone.

The truth you talk about, is it about Jesus or slandering another brother or sister in Christ who like us all, did not show love and acceptance at the right time. I wonder if you would talk to me if we meet or maybe I am too old, boring dress funny, or maybe I am cool, power dresser, what i am poorly trying to say is that all of us walk pass people every day and not say hello, or show interest.

Why do you say elite? I have watched whilst serving the nature of many of our young leaders and the old ones too, and sure some need a wash in the word, but elite is not what I would call them. Confident in what God has for them on the given day, but humbled when during the week they fail and have to cry out on their knees.

You say you want to help, then get counsel and help this elite group. Maybe you are right and they need your chastisement, or maybe you are wrong, but at least the issues will be aired. Mind you if you have no relationship or credibility in their lives they might tell you to jump, like you might tell me. What has God said to do, you know listen and obey the Holy Spirit. Best leave my opus for another day

I sincerely hope that you receive healing and can forgive those that have wronged you at PS.
We can’t expect anyone to change, just pray Jesus will speak with them gently, with love and tenderness just like you and I both want,

    October 22, 2012 at 10:55 pm

  14. Just responding to TheFrog:

After being close with senior members of Planetshakers for many years I can tell you these concerns have been aired time and time again. I can also tell you they were not only disregarded by those in charge, but those that raised any concerns were quickly dealt with and moved along quietly. (The list of former staff members who disappeared without so much as a single word is staggering).

Judging by your comments I can only assume you haven’t had the displeasure of being a part of this elitist culture that is rife amongst the hierarchy of Planetshakers. It is not a safe place for any stable human being, let alone somebody who may be a bit fragile. It is ruthless and seeks to exclude those that do not fall in to line. I have seen people surrounded by friends and the second they speak out against something they are left completely alone and isolated.

I don’t wish to debate the christian way of life or any of it’s teachings as quite frankly, I do not give a care in the world about the faith anymore. I am pointing out that in any real world standards – what is going on now and historically at Planetshakers is wrong. If this were a school, government department, sporting club or the like – there would be checks and balances in place to ensure people were being treated correctly. I don’t believe that churches in general should be allowed to act in this manner.

Quite frankly, I look forward to a Royal Commission into the church sector as a whole. The sector is largely a law unto itself and it shouldn’t have that power. Checks and balances need to be put into place to ensure that cults like this one do not prosper and ruin more innocent lives.

  15. Absolutely agree,Jethro. Get your head out of the sand, Frog..think for yourself, don’t just swallow and follow.
    2 Timothy 2:15 !!!!

  16. I agree angel and jethro! Not many can see what goes on and what so of us get to se

    November 25, 2012 at 10:01 pm

  17. Any “rock” music has a satanic origin. And i’m not saying the other genre of music is okay. Whether it is so-called “christian” music, if it has some form of Hollywood style in it, forget it! David played the harp and that was all it took for God to drive that evil spirit away from King Saul. My point is; God deserves to be worshiped with more decency in music and appearances.

    February 9, 2013 at 9:58 pm

  18. To Zivah, Gastronurse,Angel and Jethro, I couldn’t agree with you more! I left the AOG many years ago, I was there for 25 years and at the time blinded. I praise God that I now fellowship with true humble believers, with reverent worship, I will not attend any church that sings Hillsong fake music. I thank my God that I have found a great fellowship where we strive to please God in everything we do, where we are admonished and encouraged in the faith using nothing but the Word of God! The rest of you, I can only beg you to leave the apostate church. Google Paul Washer – Shocking Youth message and listen and pray about it all.

  19. Hi all, Thanks for this post. I am extremely damaged by what planetshakers has done to my life and am in shock when looking back at how stupid I was to blindly have faith in these fame mongers. The entire church is full of greedy shallow self righteous people and I am not suprised I have gone off my head. So many times when reading my bible, God warned me that they werent looking after me but I thought I was evil for thinking he was referring to them? Goes to show they didnt teach me how to hear gods voice which is the most important thing at the end of the day. Noone can return ur phone calls for pastoral help because its a business. this is their job. they are musicians – not men and women of god. they sing about jesus but thats where it finishes….once they get off stage, they will walk right past you even if you want to talk to them and take selfies with their fashion model friends. what a cheap nasty church it is! my prayer is that the senior pastors drop dead. in jesus AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE name i pray, amen.

    April 23, 2013 at 8:55 am

  20. I could not agree more with what has been written above. It is sad that people have been hurt by such a so called ministry. I am but one of the many who went along with what Planetshakers said and did. Still I was not accepted. Was on creative team for a short while and went along with the requests made of me because I wanted to be obedient and honour my leaders. Never did I want to be on platform all the time but once Planetshakers got what they wanted from me I was discarded and made to feel worthless like I had nothing left to give. Planetshakers doctrine is by no means Biblical in anyway shape or form. The judgment that is given out to those who even speak up or question anything is taken personally. Teachings like giving, obedience and honouring your leaders were taught in such a way as to manipulate and control. To be prayed for would also be problematic because they would physically push me so I would β€˜go out in the spirit’. Would always feel unwell leaving church and realized I could not do this any longer. I do not miss wanting to be a part of something that is in fact hurting more people than helping people. I do not miss wanting to be a part of the in crowd. I do not miss thinking about what to wear in advance or what make up should be on my face. I do not miss people telling me who I can and cannot mix with or date. Planetshakers doctrine is not Biblical or the love of God. Hope all who have been hurt by Planetshakers can find healing. Hope one day AOG will be regulated so that leaders will be more accountable for their actions and such deep hurt won’t happen as much as it has.

    April 25, 2013 at 12:33 am

  21. I have been out of Planetfakers for a year now and it was the best decision I have ever made. The signs were there for a long time but I chose to ignore them. No doubt that there are plenty of great people there, in fact, I have met some of the most kind-hearted and admirable people at Planetfakers. But the church itself is not of god. Of this I am certain.

Preachers truly backed by God do not sound like whiny hysterical clowns. Every week it’s the same crap that is spewed over. ‘God’ needs YOUR money which by the way belong to HIM. So you better give Planetfakers that 10% tithe if you want any of God’s favour. Biggest joke in the history of religion.

If the music was truly inspired by God, it would be worthy of Grammy Awards. Shitty pop rock with Christian lyrics. “You are not making Christianity any better, only making Rock n’ Roll worse”. Laughable lyrics really.

  22. Lots of thanks for each of one’s difficult function on this weblog. Kim truly likes getting into internet research and it is easy to see why. A lot of people know all about the powerful form you convey helpful suggestions on this website and even improve participation from other individuals around the theme whilst our child is starting to learn a lot. Enjoy the remaining portion from the year. You are doing a tremendous job.

  23. It is awesome designed for me to possess a web site, which is helpful in favor of my knowledge. thanks admin

  24. What????????

    June 22, 2013 at 9:58 pm

  25. Planetshakers is a terrible church and I’m speaking from experience.

All they care about is money money money, making sure all the people on stage have the best fashion and makeup and having the most famous preachers in the world on there stage at Dallas Brooks.

I have left planet shakers because it damaged me instead of repaired me.
I was in planet shakers for 3 years and was best friends with Aimee Evans, Ps Russell’s Daughter.

I was worried what I would wear to church a week in advanced because if it wasn’t right I’d be judged by everyone.
If you don’t lift your hands, everyone judges you.

It’s not a church, it’s simple the dumbest thing ever and they are all brainwashed losers and i used to be one of them and I’m sorry for what happened to all of you, Warn your friends, warn your family.

    Planet shakers is bad news.

    July 10, 2013 at 9:30 am

  26. Wow I have never read such negativity about a church,I only wanted to say how blessed I was by Sam Evans speaking on Rev 1and 4. She was on God tv this morning here in the UK,I think it was from 2009 I really needed to hear the message that she spoke on as I have been struggling for a while.
I believe all churches are full of hurting people and GOD wants to heal our hearts.
God does not want anything from us but our Hearts totally abandoned to him in love and adoration for who he is. He knows the state of hearts and I am just so thankful he does not judge us because if he did none of us would be here. Let us all learn to forgive and love one another that is a command of GOD.
Gods love and mine Lynne. X X
Let us not forget what Jesus went through for each of us.

    January 15, 2014 at 4:13 am

  27. Planetshakers is an amazing church which serves an even more amazing God. And it annoys me that people speak bad of each other’s church for you forget to realise who runs that church… Therefore when u say such rude words about a church you are saying those stuff really to God.

Yes I understand you might be hurt by some of the people in that church but HELLO church is for sinners last time I checked. The church is not for perfect people, if you are perfect then Jesus isn’t for you. And if you feel like your getting judged when you don’t raise ur hands and if ur getting worried bout what ur going to wear it is simply because u might not be hanging with the wrong crowd. Even when ur friends with the pastors daughter doesn’t mean she’s gonna be perfect. Every single person there is a sinner difference is they know they make mistakes but they admit they need a saviour.

I gave my life to Jesus at a planetshakers conference years ago. Ever since my relationship with Jesus has grown and I attend church at planetshakers.

This does not make me bias as yes sometimes I feel hurt becoz of how some ppl treat me there. Instead I do not look at the church as bad neither the individual but I pray for them. You can’t expect to be completely happy when u start making friends with other Christians, you can’t think Christians r perfect either. But that doesn’t mean you get discouraged and leave a church with such hatred inside. We need to love one another and forgive one another just like Christ forgave us.
We cannot judge someone cause they sin differently than us.
    God Bless

    January 15, 2014 at 4:01 pm

  28. Btw I hate religion……
Too many arguments, not a lot of love lots of war blah blah
Religion gives advice but Jesus gives hope. Religion puts you in bondage but Jesus sets u free. Planetshakers isn’t about religion it’s about relationship. That’s what I want in a churchπŸ‘Œ

    January 15, 2014 at 4:08 pm

  29. What kind of relationships is Planet Shakers about tho Evie? You and Lynne both seem to want to take only the good parts and pretend the bad parts aren’t real.

This blog started as the result of some people’s very personal, real, painful experiences, which they chose to share thoughtfully, and in the hope that it might do some good.

It’s all very well for every religion and ideology to go around saying “We’re not a religion, we are the one true path” but if you stop and think for a moment it sounds a bit silly.

If you want to get around believing that planetshakers is all sugar and spice, nobody can stop you, but don’t expect that the rest of the thinking world is going to see it your way. The issues are real, and the concerns people have raised are real.

    Tim Ogilvy

    January 15, 2014 at 4:20 pm

  30. Yo bro
    Haters gonna hate
Planetshakers is one of the fastest growing congregations in Australia
And Pentecostal churches such as planetshakers have been out there spreading the gospel. Proving to the world that God exists and that his love is real. It’s because of churches like this, that Jesus is able to shine through and touch the lives of millions. Now the Pentecostal faith is the largest in the world. It grows faster than the worlds population.

I understand ppl may be hurt but the number of ppl hurt by the church is dramatically small to the number who love the church and who now also love Jesus. That doesn’t mean I don’t care bout the pain some of the ppl might be going through but it makes us all question how much the pain that they go through is caused by the church or is there something else… They think blaming the church for their pain is what they feel is right??

Church isn’t an event you attend and watch. Worship isn’t either, it is a lifestyle to be lived.
Jesus is my saviour not my religion. The bad parts are real… I kindve figured that out once I realised the church is full of sinners bro…. Not every church is perfect. That’s coz the church is full of sinners ….
Church shouldn’t be a place for righteous perfect place it should be a hospital for the broken. And that’s exactly what it is😊

And yes guess what Jesus and religion never really got along. Maybe if u read the New Testament, and start talking to the author of the bible you would realise that:) simply coz the Pharisees ( religious men ) were the men who always persecuted Jesus. Without them and their contribution jesus wouldn’t have been murdered.

    January 15, 2014 at 4:46 pm

  31. Evie there’s a huge difference between ‘haters’ and people who are choosing to talk about their experiences. It’s quite offensive for you to label people in that way.

You also stated “Maybe if u read the New Testament, and start talking to the author of the bible you would realise that”.

I find it interesting that you are assuming I haven’t read the new testament, and I’d like to know which specific ‘Author’ of the bible you are referring to. Or are you saying that God personally translated the versions we have today, and typeset and printed them? Also, if God is the author of the bible, why are their books called “John” and “Matthew”?

What you are doing is essentially very low-brow marketing for planetshakers, and you’ve chosen a very strange place to do it. Why are you expressing this here?

    January 15, 2014 at 4:52 pm

  32. Hey bro I’m a Christian haters gonna hate
Do I look like I live my life for planetshakers? no. I live for jesus
Hey man I just stated my opinion pretty sure it’s free country where I am….
    I ain’t swearing, I ain’t hating so why u getting offended?
Look u could read the bible inside and out but knowing the bible and knowing the author are two seperate things. Humans physically wrote the bible I agree 100% but what drove them to write that stuff is God. He is the true author of the bible😊

    January 15, 2014 at 4:59 pm

  33. I basically wanted to say
The church is full of sinners it isn’t perfect. What is perfect though is Jesus.
Let not the opinions of man interfere with the directions given to you by God.
I don’t really wanna argue so yea I’m done here
JESUS IS LOVE … And if ur looking for love stop running to the wrong places. Coz ur gonna find true love in Jesus.

    January 15, 2014 at 5:04 pm

  34. Evie, I’m not offended, but I am a little bit disturbed by the way you have chosen to oversimplify things. Who are you calling “haters”? I don’t see any “haters” here.

I didn’t say you shouldn’t voice your opinion: of course you can… but I’m just not sure what kind of response you were expecting to get. Do you want me to tell you that you’re right and all the people who have posted here should repent and delete their comments? What did you expect the result would be? What are you actually trying to achieve or communicate here?

I know plenty of very good pastors and theologians who don’t go around saying “God is the author of the bible”, because they know full well that it has been written and translated by countless people over the last couple of thousand years. Most of them choose to believe that the bible was “inspired by God”, which is roughly what you are saying in your second last sentence. It’s doubtful that 100% of what drove them to write anything was God, since you are basically suggesting that they were infallible, which contradicts the concept of sinfulness, and makes no sense.

It seems to me you felt threatened by the fact that a few people chose to go online and say some “bad stuff” about your favorite church, and you wanted to jump in and say some good stuff to try and “make it better”. Most of the people here are involved in the conversation because they did experience “good stuff” at planetshakers, but in the end found that for them the “bad stuff” could not be avoided or hidden any longer.

If you want to quote Jesus and stuff, how about Luke 11:39 “Woe to you Scribes and Pharisees, pretenders, who wash the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within are full of plunder and evil!”

Coming on here and trying to make the problems go away with a few glib statements is “cleaning the outside of the cup.”

    January 15, 2014 at 5:12 pm

  35. I’m not threatened simply sad that ppl have given up faith in God because of what they felt when they stepped into church and started talking to the ppl in the church. They expected them to be perfect but they aren’t. They have taken the bad stuff and chosen that to be what defines the church.

The bible is Gods word, physically written by man but God has actually told man what to write….

Then the LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” (Jeremiah 1:9).

It is God’s communication to men. His words are transmitted to us through its pages. It is one thing to read theology books that tell about God; it is quite another to read God’s love letters to you.

I want everyone hurt by the ppl of the church to forgive and experience the love of CHRIST πŸ™‚ that’s all. He’s the only one who can feel your pain and understand what your going through. If planetshakers isn’t for u then fair enough maybe it isn’t your type… Maybe u belong in another church ( hillsong, jesus culture or some small churches etc.)
As long as u are able to receive from that church and help ur relationship with Christ grow then good:)

But don’t give up on God. He’s doing got a plan for your life better than the one you have so trust him.
He loves you more in a moment than anyone can in a lifetime πŸ™‚

I don’t want to fight. I know what the church is about. I’m one of the 9000 ppl who regularly attend the church in Melbourne. And I am a follower of Christ. I’m not a Christian because I’m strong and have it all together
    I’m weak and I admit I need a saviour:)

Have a good day everyone 😘😘 Xx

    January 15, 2014 at 5:50 pm

  36. Hmmm I’m sorry it just isn’t that simple, but you are really just regurgitating a bunch of things other people have said to you, so there’s not much point explaining.

My biggest beef with the whole planetshakers paradigm was their love for quoting Jeremiah out of context and telling people God has a plan for their life.

So when a baby is born with HIV and destined to die by the age of three, God has a great plan for that infant’s life? Nah it just doesn’t stack up. It’s great for middle class conservative kids who want to abdicate personal responsibility for finding their own path in life, but it’s not a healthy place for responsible adults.

My strongest objection is to the idea that Christianity makes people happy, fulfilled, and successful. Real Christianity makes people poor, persecuted, and unpopular. Anyone who is actually following any kind of credible Jesus would not be trying to shut down the voices of people who have been hurt with petty glibness. Hence, again, I conclude: PlanetShakers is not a church, it’s a business, and a popularity cult. Your efforts to defend it only serve once again to illustrate the point.

    January 15, 2014 at 5:59 pm

  37. Hi Evie,
I don’t know what to say. Some people have been hurt by the church. And some people have been kicked out.

I have come to realised not to rely on people there who are “supposely” to be my friends.

I have problems that when leaders always give the answer ” pray about it”

When you go for guidence they don’t want to listen.

And my friend who shall not be named
She has been “kicked out ” from so many ULs. And left out from peoples outings.

Don’t get me wrong her relationship with god is great. And she knows the plans that’s he has for her.

I will would like one thing to say Evie

Church is only a cover. Try and do internship and see if you can see different.

I have left church now, as I have been burnt. Standing up to the standard wasn’t good enough.

Also you said you had HIV? The immune virus.

Well you’re lucky that chutch believed you and prayed for you and all

I got called a hyperconderact or what ever is the spelling

  38. I have not shutdown anyone’s hurt you can read that in my text at the start….
And who says the plan for that child born with HIV and has died has to be fulfilled on earth. For all you know that child’s plan was to be fulfilled in heaven πŸ™‚
If it makes ppl unhappy howcome it’s the fastest growing faith, why is it it grows faster than the worlds population.
Because without CHRIST we r empty….we r full once we know him:) HALLELUJAH !!:)
You can believe it isn’t a church… I believe it is and so do other millions. Because the presence of God is in that church and his love is there… Therefore it’s a church:)
I don’t just defend the church I represent Jesus and his kingdom:)

    January 15, 2014 at 6:09 pm

  39. Also even thought I love the church still
I can’t go there and talk to leaders without them having to hurt me.

Also when I was going thoug boom I didn’t like the fact that it was forced upon me so quickly. And that I was made to force it on others.

But if we are all “Christians” if we say we are.

Isn’t it about showing god through ourselves and not act silly scaring them off?

  41. Yes I know it is.

Also forgot to mention. ” falling in te power of god” the push you down

    January 15, 2014 at 6:17 pm

  42. Evie what u have said there is amazing
So many ppl have been saved there. Ex drug dealers, thieves, depressed etc. they found the love of Christ in that church
If a leader hurt you don’t forget that leader is a sinner, they aren’t perfect. And I’m sure their intention wasn’t to hurt you. Plus prayer is powerful. So powerful God knows everyone of them:) he’s your father:)

    January 15, 2014 at 6:19 pm

  43. Evie thankyou for writing those stuff there.
Haha it really feels like this page is controlled by satan

    January 15, 2014 at 6:20 pm

  44. Hi Tom, yes it wasn’t to hurt me. But asking for help and blowing me off? Yeh yhay great leadership

    January 15, 2014 at 6:20 pm

  45. I was starting to believe what these ppl were saying but after reading what Evie and the others were saying I believe in Christ

    January 15, 2014 at 6:21 pm

  46. Sorry if u got hurt by one of the leaders
But don’t let that effect your relationship with Christ
He is the true healer and deliverer and he knows your pain more than anyone else could πŸ™‚

    January 15, 2014 at 6:23 pm

  47. They must’ve never meant to push you off ….

    January 15, 2014 at 6:24 pm

  48. And if they did don’t hate them. Forgive them. Pray for them for all u know they might be going through a hard time too

    January 15, 2014 at 6:25 pm

  49. Yeah I agree with tom πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ. JESUS BEST COUNCILLOR

    January 15, 2014 at 6:26 pm

  50. To the extent I can’t open up anymore. My “friends” who I have unknown since school don’t want to know me anymore.

One who I thought was a really good friend.

Was we are both on different walk from god.

I’m like doesn’t mean you blow off your friends

    January 15, 2014 at 6:28 pm

  51. I am a person that needs a chat not to be like ” have you prayed” or ” pray” even you need to
Go up to get prayed for

    January 15, 2014 at 6:31 pm

  52. Gosh it’s funny reading the stuff some kids come out with. It’s like you’re reading straight off their marketing material. I love it when as soon as something is slightly critical, some kid is always like OMG it’s Satanic.

So wait thinking and asking intelligent questions is Satanic now?

How old are you kids anyway?

  53. I went to Planetshakers for a short while when I was trying to find a church, but I felt that they left a really bad impression on me.

Yes, at the start, there is hype. But once the hype dies away, is there a substantial base beneath it? I had trouble listening to the sermons as I felt uneasy, and biblically inaccurate or lacking. The treatment of people there seems quite horrendous whether people are conscious of the effect of their action. I was told off by a service host because I was praying for a friend in the service – apparently I wasn’t allowed to because I wasn’t part of the “prayer team”. During conference in 2012 I was told off for using a mobile phone because I could have been taking pictures (I was actually texting, trying to find a friend), yet in 2013, they were very pushy for people to use cameras and instagram etc. The final spanner in the works was when a preacher singled out a person in the congregation and told them off for talking to someone else. I felt really sorry for that person, and I cant believe that people clapped along with the pastor for condemning that person without knowing the circumstance – maybe they have trouble hearing, maybe they have trouble understanding English and their friend was elaborating or translating. Did pastor stop to think about that? Did pastor care about how it might effect that person’s esteem, or view of God and church? Maybe that person wasn’t even a Christian, and thanks to that, he never wants to set foot in a church again.

I do suggest if you are having problems with Planetshakers, or the people in Planetshakers though, do try another church and don’t abandon God. People are stupid, myself included. What they think is best might be the worst for someone. God still loves you, God still loves his people, no matter how badly the messengers of his word screw up.

In my experience, I’ve been going to Hillsong in Melbourne since it started, and I felt a completely different attitude – welcoming, open arms, and a more genuine care. I’ve been able to comfortably talk about my past – depression and suicide, and not be judged on it, but have people support me. Tim Douglass is a very genuine and honest pastor I feel – he easily admits he makes mistakes, but points back to Jesus and how it’s Christ’s perfection in him.

I dont know why I’m commenting on this blog, but maybe someone needs this – even if you have been offended in my church, don’t forsake God! God will still come through, and you can find him anywhere.

  54. All I can say to people is go to a church that loves the truth and preaches all the counsel of God

  55. Well David, if that’s all you can say to people I wouldn’t recommend getting a job as a pastor or a counselor.

  56. To the person who is praying for the pastors to drop dead: really? Christian? I pray no unbelievers ever see this website

  58. Comment taught me a lot about Planetshakers. Although their song inspires me but regarding with their background based on comment. I bothered now. All i can say is to just put our faith to God and not with people around us. Regardless of how popular and influence they are. still fix our eyes to Jesus.

  60. It’s interesting to read the varied comments about the clip/church culture. I did see straight away that it was a joke and of course is not that extreme. However, having gone to PS occasionally over the years and having been part of a large Pentecostal church I do see elements of these attitudes in real life. For example- I don’t think there was a sunday that I didn’t go to church without wearing make up and heels- not because I really wanted to but because it was the “norm” and if you weren’t dressed up you were looked upon as a “project” lol.
I think there was a subtle perception that women had to have it all together in every area of their life- the Cinderella’s of the church who were waiting for their prince charmings (or had already gotten them and the princes had to look, and act like the cartoon otherwise they simply weren’t prince charmings haha).

When I met my now fiance he didn’t fit that mould. He wasn’t on his way to being senior leader, drive a new car, have all his friends in church and be a total charmer to all the ladies.. but he was (and is) a man after God’s own heart. Our relationship wasn’t excepted. Not because it wasn’t God’s will or was dishonourable/unscriptural in any way but it didn’t fit the mould. But ‘man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart’ we are called to have a humble, sacrificial heart not a proud heart like one of the pharisees. Unfortunately, I used to see this arrogant attitude amongst people way too often and they would not operate with humility and God’s insight but with a misinformed judgemental attitude. We all can learn from this and work hard to not adopt this way of living as christians!
